Social media is fun! It provides an endless source of entertainment, information, current events, inspiration, and ideas. It’s also a great way to stay connected with friends, family… and of course, your favorite professional organizers!
However, TOO MUCH of a good thing isn’t good. Consider limiting your time on social media, or even completely unplugging for a day or two. Here are some ideas for what you can do instead of social media:
“POST” a message, but this time using good old fashion pen and paper. Then send it snail mail to a loved one.
“LIKE” something your kids are doing. It’s all too easy to nag and complain about behaviors instead of looking for positives.
“FOLLOW” your loved ones on a bike ride through your community.
“PIN” a few house project ideas to a REAL bulletin board and create a vision board for home improvements that you can do during quarantine.
“CHAT” with your neighbors! Place lawn chairs six feet apart in your yard and hangout.
“CHECK-IN” on your kids to see how they are handling all these unprecedented changes.
“THREAD” a needle and fix all those neglected pieces of clothing waiting for a button, or needing to be hemmed.
“FAVORITE” your top ten board games and place them in a convenient spot to play with the family. Donate any games that are missing pieces, or are no longer age-appropriate.
“SCROLL” through your shoeboxes of photographs. Start that photo organizing project that you haven’t had time for in the past!
“TWEET” Did you hear that? It wasn’t a ping, it was a real bird in your yard. Sit outside and just listen to the sounds of nature.
“TAG” your kids. No, not in a photo that you’re posting, but physically tag them in a game of tag. Come on, when’s the last time you played? It’s fun!
“TROLL” the weeds in your garden by picking on them all day.
“GO VIRAL” … not!
